Today I will talk about my vacations, normally I always work in the summers, I live in Villarrica in the summers and we all work because tourists arrive and it is the best time to work and raise money, January is one of the best months, the city fills up and there are many customers buying. I usually work at a fair where I sell jams, I work from 6:00 pm to 00:00, I like this schedule since in the morning I can go to the beach, eat out, sleep late and get ready to go to work I like it because also at that time the sun is not so strong and it is not very hot. If one day they visit Villarrica in January, I will be there to serve them hahahah. February is different, since it is the only whole month of vacation for my mother, so I only work sometimes, and I take time to go out and be with her, we are adventurous and until winter we go to the beach, to the snow what Hahahah, but the months of February are clearly for the family and the preparations for then in March to return to Santiago and...

 This photo is of overcoming, a photo that I see and remember that I am always able to get ahead. In 2019 I had an accident, I fell from a ladder in the beachef faculty of our university, it was all very strange since it was a good day for me, I had attended a talk about stress, it left me very happy and then in the In the afternoon I had my first photography class at that college, I was very anxious and happy. But I did not reach to arrive ... :( Well, I fell and broke my foot (I'm thankful for not hitting my head), but that's where my hell began, I was in bed for 3 months, and about to undergo surgery for my foot (if they had operated on me, it would have been more months of recovery), I fell into depression because I felt lonely, even though my boyfriend tried hard not to feel that way, he still felt it, because we don't have family in Santiago and I needed my mother and sister. I wanted to kill myself for feeling useless because I couldn't bathe alone, my boyfriend ...

 Today I will talk about a postgraduate course that I would like to do when I leave university. Well after leaving university I would like to do postgraduate courses such as forensics, there are courses that are specialized for biochemists, chemists and chemists and pharmacists. In a previous blog I gave my reasons why I want to be a forensic or specialize in that. But I would also like to do a postgraduate degree related to immunology, since I have had immunology problems since I was little and I would like to do some more research in that area, I really like the physiology of our systems and see how our immune system works within We, since all bodies are different, I see it as different universes to be able to investigate, I would like to be able to do this postgraduate degree outside of Chile, in a place where both forensics and immunology are important in research and it is not as vague as in Chile.  Well, I'll start ... In a few more years I would like to work in the PDI, as a forensic, I always draw attention to the crime scenes, to find the criminal and to be able to give a little justice to the victims, I would like that job in the laboratory and also in the scenes of the crime collecting the evidence. The truth is that it always caught my attention because I saw a series called "CSI: Miami" and I would like to be like them hahahah, I would also like to travel doing research on the best cases from different countries. As for salary, I know it pays well, but there is no better pay than doing what you love, that's why I'm studying Biochemistry, with this title I can do a forensic course to work like this, or enter the PDI with this title, to work in that area. But I would also like to work in the area of clinical biochemistry, researching immunology, in order to find a cure for foreign diseases of the body, I really like the laboratory and being alone doing...

From a very young age when I went to eat somewhere away from home, I asked for this accompanied by a raspberry juice, and to this day I prefer it over any other meal, it is prepared with a large bread, avocado, tomato, meat and different sauces. Also here in Chile it is very common since there are many restaurants that sell it and there are also street carts that prepare it very quickly when you are in a hurry and hungry on the street, I think everyone should have it on their menu. It is a unique flavor, every time I eat it, I go back to my childhood and I feel that emotion that it is what I love, but the bad thing is that it is junk food and this affects my health a lot, sometimes it causes me pain from stomach if it is not well prepared or if the sauces are not. But it will always be my favorite food for tea time or when I'm traveling. What is it? It is very easy if you are Chilean hahahah.  

 I think I have many moments in my life that make me cringe hahah, my family is about doing things that are very embarrassing, but it's funny to remember them.I could not choose which is the one that gives me the most cringe, but I will tell you one. We were in 2014, I was 14 years old with my mother visiting a school that I would enter the following year, I did not like school and I just wanted to go so I hurried my mother, the school had a giant staircase at the entrance and I remember that my mother He was saying to me “daughter think about staying at school, declare it daughter”, and suddenly… she fell. Out of nowhere I saw her on the wadding floor, dying of laughter, I died of shame because everyone at school was watching and my mother never got up from the floor, now she makes me laugh a lot, but at that moment I just wanted to run away and stop hahaha, thank God I left the city the following year and did not enter that school.

 Although for me, all my vacations are the best because I am with my family in beautiful places, one of the ones that left a mark on me the most was the vacation we had to la serena, when we traveled to see the eclipse of July 2, 2019. I remember it because I was having a bad moment of health that month, in fact, I was on medical leave, at that time we lived with my boyfriend alone in Santiago and our families are from the south, on July 1 my boyfriend's family arrived from surprise home, I was in bed I remember. They know that I love photography, traveling and being with my family so they told me; "Get up, take your camera and in 5 minutes we went to the serene to see the eclipse", I was sick but I could not miss the opportunity and automatically I felt better, I dressed, took a backpack, my camera and we went on a trip, the trip lasted 5 hours because we stopped to eat, we arrived at the cabin where we stayed at 7 in the afternoon and we got ready for the next day. The country I would like to visit is France. The culture of that country has always caught my attention, and how beautiful it is, especially the Eiffel Tower that is in its capital, Paris. It is a dream to travel to visit with my mother, sister and boyfriend, we have always shared the dream of knowing France and seeing what life is like there, it would be great to live there and get a job in a clinical laboratory since it occupies the first place among the ten best health systems in the world. I don't know much more about this country, since I would like to find out everything for myself on a trip. On the other hand, its heritage is wonderful and wide, that is why I would love to be able to travel there, and know everything about France. I hope sometime to fulfill this dream with my mother, my sister and my boyfriend.  The truth is that English has never been my favorite subject, but I have always wanted to learn because it is a very important language in my career and in life, but, actually, I don't know why it has always been so difficult for me. Since I was a little girl, I have fought with all my English teachers, because they did not know how to teach to those who cost us the most. Sometimes I learn but if I stop practicing for two weeks I forget all of it, hahaha, I don't know what happens to me with English because it doesn't fit in my head. But it has always been one of my dreams can speak it well, to be able to travel and communicate with people who only speak that language.

 This sementer i have five subject in the university, but my favoutire subject is called  "Cellular physiology", in this course we see everything that has to do with cell physiology, from a cell to an organism.  Every wednesday we have a seminar on the subject and we do a quiz with a grade, they give a us different types of problems, for exmaple about the higt concentration og glucose in an organism. In based on that they make us read and explain to us, we must deliver a solution for that patient. The main contents that i have seen are the functional characteristics of the plasma membrane of the cells and the solutes.  I like this subject because it is very close to that i want to investigate when i finish my dreegre, about the human body, diseases, etc. I have had good grades and that motivates me to continue with these types of subjects that are what my career has, and for this reason it motivates me to continue with my goals and dreams.

 Hello again, do you remember that I am studying biochemistry? Today I will talk about the impact of this on the world. My career is about all kinds of science, so we can make the world a better place in many ways, from culture to necessary experiments and contribute to them so that we can continue to live on this planet. For example, in popular science we can help people to know more about chemistry, I have always heard that chemicals are "bad", but since I am studying biochemistry I learned and realized that they are not, but that the amount of chemical is good or toxic.  Valentina Parra. Doctor in Biochemistry from the University of Chile. She has additional professional research experience in three laboratories outside the country: at the University of Liverpool, University of Utah and at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She has won many awards such as the L'Óreal-Unesco Award for Women in Science in 2011, the Oriana Josseau Foundation Award and the Young Talent in Life Sciences Award nomination from GE Healthcare and the Brazilian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SBBQ) in the year 2012.   He is Docky, my baby, this picture was taken by me, while we were traveling to see my boyfriend's family on May 7, 2021. I like it because it was the first time that he stuck his tongue out in the car, before that moment, he did not do it because he was afraid to travel and just drool. With my boyfriend we adopted Docky, because a neighbor gave notice that a dog with 13 pups appeared on the road. I barely saw him, I loved him, my boyfriend was on a trip, so, together with my mother  rescued two of those babies, one is Docky and the other is called Thor. Then, I waited for my boyfriend to arrive to surprise him and see if he wants to adopt the dog permanently. When Mathias (my boyfriend) arrived, he fell in love with him too hahah, so we definitely adopted him and my mother adopted Thor. (all the hatchlings found a home). The first one was given to me by my mother when I was six or so, so that I could capture every moment while she was working so that I wouldn't get so bored with my sister. Since that time I never stopped using it, I have bought four more in my life, it is an escape for me from everything else, I try to use it every time I have free time, and when I go on a trip it is always with me, because when I come back from those trips it helps me to remember. I like it because from there I see things in a different way and in this way I can express it and save it to later remember.
